Helen returns to the Oxford Lieder Festival with Toby Carr to present Battle Cry, a programme taken from their recent, acclaimed disc of the same name on Delphian Records. The programme rebalances the 17th-century obsession with female abandonment and lament, incorporating works by Purcell, Monteverdi, Barbara Strozzi and their contemporaries, as well as a specially commissioned work by Owain Park.

The concert is preceded by a short talk about the instrumental combination given by Jeremy Summerly with musical illustrations from Helen and Toby.
